Monday night, June 23, with Bill Knott: During WWII in Africa, one Swiss Adventist family hosted Adventist soldiers from the United States and from Germany and Italy for Sabbath afternoon lunches. As they chatted on an afternoon walk, their only lament was that a war was going on. How could they walk and talk peaceably together? In this sermon from Luke 24, you’ll find that the fire of the early Christian church started burning weeks before Pentecost, the result of walking and talking together with Jesus. Early Adventism was conceived in discussion, dialog and debate—respectfully walking and talking together. “I learn best by talking to people who disagree with me,” said Knott. “Inhabit your role in the body of Christ!” he encouraged, promising that growth will happen as we walk and talk respectfully with each other and with Christ.
