SNEC Celebrates Finleys' 59th Wedding Anniversary

SNEC United Camp Meeting, Thursday, June 25

At the evening program, Pastor Joseph Piresson led the congregation in a surprise rendition of “Happy Anniversary” for guest preacher Pastor Mark Finley and his wife, presenter Ernestine “Teenie” Finley (above, right) and SNEC Executive Secretary, John K. Amoah (above, left) expressed appreciation as they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. It was a simple, heartfelt way to honor their ministry, share in their joy, and express our love as we said goodbye on their final day of presentations.

Juniors Explore Adventist Historic Sites

The Juniors had an amazing time exploring local Adventist historic sites, all within walking distance.  They learned the history behind the Southern New England Conference (SNEC) office building, the Village SDA church, and Founders Hall on the campus of the former Atlantic Union College, and had the privilege of meeting Pastor Mark and Teenie Finley, SNEC president Edgardo Herrera, and other SNEC administrators. 

SNEC Discipleship Institute at United Camp Meeting: Throughout the week, SNEC pastors Alexandru Breja and John K. Amoah presented courses on different aspects of Biblical Eschatology, and Pastors Chuck Holtry, David Kobliska, Benjamin Nichols, and Bruno Lourenco presented on Ellen G. White and the Prophetic Gift, sponsored by the SNEC Discipleship Institute, coordinated by Pastor Victor Perez.

Church Planting Update:

SNEC’s Church Planting/Revitalization coordinator, Pastor Kevin Maldonado, shared exciting church planting statistics from across the conference.

In SNEC since 2023:

·       18 new churches were planted

·       23 new mission groups formed

·       25 dying churches were revitalized

·       33 new companies formed

·       SNEC is #1 in church plants per member in the North American Division.

Praise God!

Here are a few surprising facts to motivate all to join this God-ordained movement and support or start a new church plant:

·       Less than 18% of the United States population attend church.

·       If the churchless in the United States were a country, it would be the 8^th largest in the world.

·       47% of unchurched people are open to being invited to church by a friend.

·       Churches that plant churches grow 3 times faster than churches that don’t multiply.

·       Newly planted churches gain 60-80% of new members from new converts.

·       On the other hand, 10- to 15-year-old churches gain most membership growth from transfers.
