Impact Boston Community Outreach Initiative

On Sunday, April 27, 2025, volunteers from across the Southern New England Conference joined forces in Dorchester, MA, for a powerful day of service and compassion through the Impact Boston Community Outreach Initiative. Aligned with the vision of Pentecost 2025, this initiative aimed to be the hands and feet of Jesus—demonstrating the gospel not just in words, but in action.

More than 160 hygiene care kits were distributed to individuals in need, while volunteers, adorned in bright yellow “WE CARE” vests, cleaned neighborhoods, connected with local residents, and offered prayer and encouragement. Despite light rain, spirits were high and hearts were open.

Churches from across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island united across language and cultural lines—Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean, Portuguese, and English—serving in four designated zones throughout Dorchester. The Boston Spanish SDA Church served as headquarters, thanks to the hospitality of Pastor Jose Rodriguez.

SNEC President Elder Robert Folkenberg inspired the group with a devotional reminder that the most powerful witness is love in action. The day became a true example of this principle, with many residents stopping to ask, “Who are you?”—moved by the compassion and presence of the volunteers.

This outreach effort was led by SNEC Adventist Community Services, with support from a dedicated team of pastors, staff, and members. The impact was undeniable: prayer-filled moments, community connections, and a visible presence of faith in action.

This is only the beginning. Let’s continue to serve monthly, build new partnerships, and prepare our hearts and communities for Pentecost 2025.

Together, we are making a difference—one act of love at a time.
