Exciting Changes Ahead for SLA

South Lancaster Academy (SLA) is thrilled to announce the rebranding of their middle school program as they continue to invest in the growth and development of students.

Beginning next school year, 6th grade students will transition to the lower level of the high school building, joining the 7th and 8th grade students in a unified middle school environment. Jonathan Bissell, 6th grade teacher, shared “I’m excited to have 6th grade rotate with the 7th and 8th grade classes; it will help strengthen and develop the middle school program.” This shift is designed to provide students with greater autonomy and the opportunity to practice moving between classrooms in preparation for high school.

By bringing grades 6–8 together, students will also benefit from specialized middle school events and activities tailored to their age group and developmental needs. These experiences will help foster stronger friendships, leadership opportunities, school spirit, and a greater sense of belonging during these important transitional years. SLA believes this change will create a stronger and more engaging middle school experience for students.

As part of this transition, SLA’s recent Founder’s Day Fundraiser has been focused on raising donations for new tables and chairs for the 6th grade classroom space. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, SLA was blessed to raise over $9,000 during the month of April.

God has truly been blessing His school and has impressed upon many hearts the importance of supporting Christian education. SLA is deeply grateful for every family, alumnus, church member, community member and friend who continues to invest in the mission of SLA and the lives of their students.
