SNEC Breaks Ground for New Pathfinder Lodge

On September 13, 2026, the Southern New England Conference (SNEC) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Pathfinder Lodge at Camp Winnekeag. Even a steady downpour couldn’t stop the celebration! Conference administrators, Camp Winnekeag staff, and guests gathered for worship, vision casting, prayer, and a dedication ceremony before grabbing their shovels and turning the first earth. Demolition of the old lodge began the next day, on September 14. The new lodge will rise on the same footprint—with more space, an elevator to the second floor, bathrooms in every room, and two linked rooms designed for families. Camp Winnekeag began as a summer youth camp but has grown to include a year-round retreat center serving people of all ages and abilities. This new lodge will help Camp Winnekeag take that mission even further.
NOW WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS! Tanna Allison, Camp Ministries director, says the goal is to have the building framed and covered before winter and construction completed before the 2027 summer camp season—and yes, that means we’re praying for a mild winter!
Thanks to a generous collaboration with our construction company, Bowdoin Construction Corporation, SNEC 7th Grade Adventure participants will even get a behind-the-scenes look at the construction process and explore real career opportunities in the skilled trades.
