Iron Sharpened Iron at SNEC Men’s Ministry Retreat

Nearly 30 men attended the Southern New England Conference Men’s Ministry “Seat of Wholeness” Retreat held at Camp Winnekeag on October 6 – 8, 2023, the first since 2019 because of the pandemic. Many testified that the camaraderie and brotherhood they experienced was immeasurable.

Featured speaker, Andre Waller of Tekoa Missions, and three panelists presented topics covering the spiritual, mental, and physical aspects of our being, giving the men tools to better navigate these areas of life.

“The retreat was such a great blessing to me and a much-needed time away, secluded with God and fellow men of valor. Definitely feel sharpened!” said attendee Jose Tirado.

“[This] men’s ministry revival was . . . filled with chipped and damaged men in camaraderie, sharpening one another to become gentlemen . . . for God, and a better friend to our neighbors and families,” noted another attendee, Jonathan Paradise.

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend,” (Proverbs 27:17, NKJV), was the principle of action for the weekend, reported the Men’s Ministry leadership. The vulnerability and transparency of some who spoke was both refreshing and cathartic, and Men’s Ministry leadership is certain the men felt blessed because of the openness and sincerity of those who shared some of their current and past experiences. Praise the Lord!
