Hispanic Camp Meeting Pentecost 2025: Un Fin de Semana de Gozo, Fe y Renovación

El Campestre Hispano fue una celebración llena de adoración, alegría y la presencia de Dios. Comenzamos a mitad de semana con el Pastor Edgardo Herrera y el Pastor Alex Palmeira, cuyos sermones prepararon los corazones para el desbordamiento espiritual del sábado, recordándonos que cuando el pueblo de Dios se reúne con fe, ocurren encuentros extraordinarios con Cristo.

La mañana del sábado comenzó con adoración y expectativa. Un destacado grupo de alabanza, dirigido por Christina Hernández Vargas de Boston, elevó voces con canciones profundas de adoración. Cuando cantaron “Alaba”, muchos sintieron que el cielo se acercaba: manos levantadas, rostros suavizados y el Espíritu Santo moviéndose poderosamente entre la congregación. La música se intensificó cuando dos coros unieron sus voces: Voces Doradas y Voces de Fe de las Iglesias Hispanas de Providence y de Leominster, bajo la dirección de la Sra. Malu Sabater. Su majestuosa interpretación del “Coro Aleluya” de Händel llenó el santuario y recordó a todos la gloria que compartiremos un día en el cielo.

El Pastor Rubén Bullón predicó con pasión y claridad desde Mateo 28:16–19, recordando que el discipulado no es un programa, sino una postura de vida: ir a los marginados, construir relaciones auténticas y orar por la persona que Dios quiere traer a nuestra vida para discipular. Su mensaje tocó los corazones de muchos y provocó respuestas de entrega y compromiso.

Después del sermón, fuimos testigos de cómo diez nuevos creyentes celebraron momentos transformadores al declarar públicamente su fe mediante el bautismo. El Pastor Tomás Polanco, en su entrevista, reflexionó sobre esas escenas y expreso su sentir en cuanto al fin de semana; el campestre es más que un evento, es una reunión familiar de fe. También nos exhortó a salir, no solo a invitar a las personas a entrar, sino a estar listos para difundir el evangelio, cumpliendo la misión de Pentecostés y llevando el mensaje a todos en el mundo.

El día estuvo lleno de vida y comunidad: iglesias compartieron almuerzos, amigos antiguos se reencontraron, se hicieron nuevas amistades y los niños jugaron alegremente. Los talleres y exhibiciones incluyeron Educación SNEC, Camp Winnekeag, Ministerio para Sordos, Protección Infantil, Servicio Comunitario, Ministerios Personales/Escuela Sabática y You Are Not Alone, ministerio que brinda esperanza a pacientes con cáncer y personas solas. Cindy Stalker y el Pastor Javier Dónate ministraron a parejas y abordaron temas LGBTQ con claridad y compasión.

El sábado cerró con un hermoso concierto con el trio The Reason, Japhet Ruiz y Ruth Esther Sandoval, dejando los corazones llenos de alabanza y gratitud.

Hispanic Camp Meeting Pentecost 2025: A Weekend of Joy, Faith, and Renewal

Southern New England Conference (SNEC) Hispanic Camp Meeting was a celebration filled with worship, laughter, and the presence of God. Beginning midweek, Edgardo Herrera, SNEC executive secretary, and Alex Palmeira, SNEC vice president for mission development, preached sermons that prepared hearts for the spiritual overflow of Sabbath — a reminder that when God’s people gather in faith, extraordinary encounters happen.

Sabbath morning opened in expectant worship. An outstanding praise team, led by Christina Hernández Vargas from Boston, lifted voices in heartfelt songs. When they sang “Alaba,” many said it felt as though heaven had come near — hands rose, faces softened, and the Holy Spirit moved in a tender, powerful way. The musical moment grew more as two choirs united: Voces Doradas and Voces de Fe from the Providence and Leominster Spanish churches under the direction of Malu Sabater. Their majestic rendition of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” filled the pavilion and reminded everyone of the glory we will share one day in heaven.

Rubén Bullón, a pastor, writer and international speaker from the Chicago area, preached with both urgency and hope from Matthew 28:16–19. He pressed on the congregation that discipleship is not a program but a posture, a calling to go out, meet the marginalized, build real relationships, and pray that God will bring into each life one specific person to disciple. His message landed with conviction, and many hearts answered.

After the sermon, ten new believers celebrated transformative moments as they publicly declared their faith in baptism. Tomás Polanco, pastor of the Hartford and Holyoke Spanish churches and the Sendero de Vida and Mt. Sion companies, reflected on those scenes and the wider heartbeat of the weekend: “Camp meeting is more than an event — it’s a family reunion of faith.” He also commanded attendees to go out, not only to invite people in, but to spread the gospel, to be part of Pentecost, and reach everyone in the world.

All day long the campgrounds were filled with life: churches shared lunches beneath the trees, children played freely, old friends reunited, and new friendships took root. There were seminars for all ages and genders. Exhibits showcased SNEC Education, Camp Winnekeag, Deaf Ministry, Child Protection, Community Service, Personal Ministries/Sabbath School, and You Are Not Alone — a tender ministry serving cancer patients and those who feel lonely. Cindy Stalker and Pastor Javier Donate led couples’ sessions and later addressed LGBTQ topics with compassion and biblical clarity. Jochy Jamel, a pastor and speaker for the youth, encouraged them to be a bold and joyful witness.

Sabbath evening’s concert — The Reason, Japhet Ruiz, and Ruth Esther Sandoval — rounded out the weekend with music that lifted souls and sent people home with worship still on their lips.
