English High School Teacher: South Lancaster Academy
198 George Hill Rd, Lancaster, MA 01523, USA
Job Type
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our school community.
This role is more than teaching literature and writing—it’s about guiding students to think deeply,
communicate effectively, and grow into thoughtful, faith-centered individuals.
As an English teacher, you will bring language to life by helping students explore the richness of words,

encourage students to find and express their own voices.
What You’ll Do
- Teach students the structure and content of the English language, including grammar, composition, and effective communication.
- Guide students in reading and analyzing both American and world literature.
- Help students identify themes, perspectives, and literary techniques.
- Assign and evaluate essays, research projects, and reading assignments.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and respectful discussion.
Who You Are
- A skilled and enthusiastic educator who believes in the mission of educating the whole
child—academically, spiritually, and socially.
- Passionate about helping students become independent thinkers, not just passive learners.
Knowledgeable in:
- Writing instruction and composition techniques.
- Research methods and citation styles.
- Literary and poetic analysis.
- Committed to meeting diverse student needs through differentiated instruction (or eager to learn).
- A strong classroom leader with excellent relationship-building skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing.
- 3 References required (non-family members).
