SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND CONFERENCE

Greetings from the Office of the President here at the Southern New England Conference.  Our role is to coordinate and focus the talents and efforts of our Conference team, working in the three states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island toward realizing our stated Vision and Mission and doing so in line with our treasured values.  These voted goals are:

Mission:  Inspiring, connecting, equipping, and supporting our members to make disciples of Christ

Values:  Faith, Hope, Love and Excellence

On behalf of the more than 20,000 members who worship in our 160 + congregations across our territory let me invite you to be a part of our dynamic, Christ-centered family of believers eagerly seeking to grow the Kingdom of God by honoring our King and Savior Jesus Christ.

Robert Folkenberg Jr.

Robert S. Folkenberg, Jr. serves as President of the Southern New England Conference, leading mission across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island with a focus on revival, evangelism, and healthy, disciple-making churches. A lifelong Adventist leader, Folkenberg has ministered on three continents. His pastoral and administrative journey includes service in the Florida Conference; field leadership in the East Asia Association and Chinese Union; presidency of the Taiwan Conference and Upper Columbia Conference; and, most recently, President of the Chinese Union. He also chaired several Hong Kong–based Adventist institutions, including Adventist Health (two hospitals), the Adventist Charitable Foundation, Hong Kong Adventist College and Academy, and ADRA Limited. He holds a B.A. in Religion with secondary education certification from Southern Adventist University, an M.Div. from Andrews University, and a D.Min. in Church Growth and Evangelism from Andrews University. Fluent in Spanish and Mandarin, Folkenberg values cross-cultural ministry and global mission. He is the author of Health for the Harvest (NADEI Press) and Getting Back to the Heart of Adventism (Pacific Press). He and his wife, Audrey—SNEC Stewardship Director and Director for Planned Giving & Trust Services—have been married since 1988 and are blessed with three adult children serving in ministry and social work. Together in Mission & Pentecost 2025: President Folkenberg is committed to leading SNEC Together in Mission and mobilizing every member for Pentecost 2025—praying, preparing, and proclaiming Jesus across New England.

Executive Team

Our Executive Team serves the churches, schools, and ministries of SNEC with prayerful, mission-driven leadership. Together, we equip disciples, steward resources with integrity, and mobilize our field for evangelism and service.
